If a government official requests the use of space on campus, the University must charge for the use of space unless the meeting is open to the public or a public forum. Any request for space must first be approved by the Office of Government and Community Affairs.
Example:
Q: A councilmember has approached my office and asked that we find space at the University for a private meeting. I'm not clear what to charge.
A: Since the meeting is private, you must charge the councilmember the fair market rate.
