Dystopian Works of NYU’s Scott Lewis On View in Wagner Exhibit Space
The Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, in partnership with the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, is launching
“The Sublime, the Wishful, and the Macabre,” a collection of paintings, drawings, and stories by Scott Lewis, NYU’s administrative services client relations manager. The exhibit offers an artistic view of an urban dystopia of physically and psychologically twisted characters, much in the style of early 20th century Expressionists.
During the 1980s, Lewis was the host and producer of The Scott and Gary Show, an irreverent public access cable program that featured early performances by bands such as the Beastie Boys, which is archived in NYU’s Fales Collection. An NYU employee for nearly 20 years, Lewis has managed, curated, and exhibited in the annual Administrative Management Council’s art show since 1998.
The exhibit, on view until Aug. 31, is free and open to the public at Wagner, 295 Lafayette Street, 2nd Floor.
