Susan Kinsey Named Dean of McGhee Division at School of Continuing and Professional Studies

Susan Kinsey, former associate vice provost for continuing education at the University of Pittsburgh, recently became head of the Paul McGhee Division in the School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS), NYU’s undergraduate program for adult students.

Kinsey has had many years of experience working in continuing higher education. She was dean of Pitt’s College of General Studies for nontraditional students from 1999-2006. In this role, she is credited with invigorating a long-established undergraduate college focused on adult learners by raising its standards and retention. Prior to working at Pitt, Kinsey served as dean of continuing education and special programs at American University in Washington D.C. Her responsibilities there included oversight for the Washington Semester/ World Capitals Program that involved internships and experiential learning both in Washington and in more than a dozen overseas locations. Kinsey also held the university-wide function of managing the Office of Sponsored Research at American.
