Department of Recorded Music Students Making Music in New Studio and Control Room
Students in the Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music began the academic
year with a new recording studio, featuring the latest in recording technology,
and a new control room outfitted with state-of-the-art equipment that seats 25
students behind two outboard-stocked producer’s desks. The department has nearly
doubled its space with the new additions, which include additional space for
faculty.

Kanbar Professor Spike Lee Tells Epic Story of Hurricane Katrina
When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, the epic documentary of New
Orleans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina by Tisch School of the Arts (TSOA)
alumnus and Kanbar Institute faculty member Spike Lee, which debuted over two
nights last month, will air throughout the month of September on HBO. Directed
and produced by Lee, the critically acclaimed film also includes in its closing
credits Kanbar faculty member Sam Pollard as producer and supervising editor as
well as 14 third-year graduate film students who served in various production
roles for class credit.

TSOA to Celebrate Broadway and the Performing Arts
The Tisch School of the Arts will hold its annual gala on Dec. 4. The benefit
event will celebrate Broadway and the performing arts, and will salute the
generosity of two Broadway icons, Gerald Schoenfeld and Floria Lasky, as well as
honor TSOA alumni Felicity Huffman ’88, Tony Kushner ’84, and George C. Wolfe
’84.
