Cyprus President Celebrates New Professorship at NYU
His Excellency Tassos Papadopoulos, right, president of Cyprus, was among those who addressed the audience at a lecture in Eisner and Lubin Auditorium celebrating the establishment of the Cyprus Distinguished Professorship in the History of Theory and Justice at NYU. College of Arts and Science Dean Matthew Santirocco, left, also provided introductory remarks to the lecture, which was delivered by Richard Sorabji, who is the first holder of the Cyprus chair. An eminent historian of ancient philosophy, Sorabji spoke on “What Zeno of Cyprus Started: Why Stoic Thinking on Justice is Important.”
