Works from Photography and Imaging On View through Nov. 21
An exhibition of approximately 70 works created by the faculty and staff of the Department of Photography and Imaging in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television is now on view through Nov. 21. The show comprises a wide range of perspectives and media, including traditional black-and-white and color photographs, publications, net art, video, painting, and multi-media installations. The exhibition explores contemporary images and themes related to family, abstract nature, fantasy, inter-plays with light, childhood memory, and the body.
Entitled Faculty & Staff Exhibition 2009-10, the exhibition is on view in three parts at two locations. Twelve works can be seen in the street level vitrines at the Helen & Martin Kimmel Center for University Life, located at the corner of LaGuardia Place and West Third Street, and are visible at all times. The remainder of the works are divided between the Gulf and Western Gallery (main floor, rear of lobby) and the Department of Photography & Imaging Gallery (8th floor), located at 721 Broadway, open from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. weekdays, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays. The exhibition is open to the public and admission is free. For further information, call 212-998-1930, or visit www.photo.tisch.nyu.edu.
