Wagner Event Examines Health Risks for Students in Public School


      About 140 people attended a discussion entitled “Students at Risk: Nutrition, Obesity and Public Schools” at the Robert F. Wagner graduate School of Public Service on Oct. 13. The panelists included Jorge Collazo, head chef for the New York City Department of Education, Nancy Heuhnergarth, director of New York State Healthy Eating and Physical Activity Alliance, Roger Turgeon, principal of Food and Finance High School in Manhattan, and Kathryn Henderson, director of School and Community Initiatives at Yale University. Wagner professor Rogan Kersh moderated the event, which was co-sponsored by the Wagner Education Policy Studies Association and the Wagner Health Network.
