Magic Spells Abound As Hollywood Comes to Washington Square
Oscar-winner Nicolas Cage, right, discusses a scene with co-star Jay Baruchel in March on the set of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, a new film co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Filmed throughout campus in such buildings as Pless Hall, 80 Washington Square East Galleries, and Vanderbilt Hall, the film will tell the story of an NYU physics student who is recruited by a New York City sorcerer. Slated for release in 2010, the film is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure) and co-stars Alfred Molina.
