Noted Playwright and Director Discuss Creative Process at The Public Theater

Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks, right, visiting arts professor in the Rita and Burton Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing at the Tisch School of the Arts and master writers chair at The Public Theater, joined Oskar Eustis, artistic director of The Public, for a conversation, attended by Tisch students and alumni, centering around the creative process of playwriting and how to keep theater vital in America.
Parks’ three-year appointment commenced last fall and represents an innovative new arrangement between academia and the non-profit theater world. Beginning this fall, Parks will also teach one undergraduate playwriting course each semester.
