College of Nursing Presents New Academic Teaching Tool At Open House
NYU’s College of Nursing has embraced a new clinical teaching tool, successfully acquiring and integrating high-fidelity simulation technology into its already rigorous nursing curriculum. In April, the college hosted a Simulation Labs Open House to provide an up-close look at the new simulation facilities, which include multiple clinical rooms, control centers, digital LCD monitors, and high-tech patient simulators.
“The future is simulation,” said Dean Terry Fulmer.
A video presentation showed students using patient simulators that allow them to work independent of faculty and respond to various patient situations by using their clinical judgment skills.
