Jeffrey Sachs Speaks on Social Science Career Options

      Columbia University professor Jeffrey Sachs, president and cofounder of the Millennium Promise Alliance, a nonprofit organization aimed at ending global poverty, was the keynote speaker at “Careers Outside the Academy: Sociology and Social Science Options,” a half-day career development workshop at NYU this spring. The event, supported by a grant from the Polonsky Foundation and Georgette Bennett (GSAS ’72), who holds a Ph.D. in sociology, is a collaboration of NYU’s Graduate School of Arts and Science, the Department of Sociology, and Wasserman Center for Career Development.
