Peace Corps Honors NYU’s Alumni Service
The United States Peace Corps honored NYU with a distinction as one of the agency’s “Top Colleges and Universities,” recognizing the more than 900 alumni that have served as volunteers since the agency’s inception in 1961. NYU was also honored for ranking second nationally among graduate institutions with alumni currently serving as volunteers.
In a March ceremony, Jody Olsen, acting Peace Corps director, presented Trudy Steinfeld, executive director of the Wasserman Center for Career Development, with a recognition award. NYU is one of 46 institutions nationwide housing an on-campus Peace Corps recruiter. Since 2006, the NYU campus recruiter has worked in the Wasserman Center.
