Sixth Annual Fusion Film Festival Runs Feb. 26-28
The Fusion Film Festival, NYU’s student-run film festival in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at the Tisch School of the Arts, which celebrates the work of women filmmakers, will mark its sixth anniversary when it unspools Feb 26-28. The theme of this year’s festival is entitled “Women Behind the Camera” and honors female cinematographers.
The centerpiece screening this year is Christine Jeffs’s Sundance hit, Sunshine Cleaning, a dramatic comedy starring Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, and Alan Arkin, which will be attended by the film’s producer, Peter Saraf. Other festival highlights include a panel on film blogging, a roundtable with Maryse Alberti (cinematographer on The Wrestler), and the New York premiere of Alexis Krasilovsky’s Shooting Women, followed by a panel discussion with cinematographers Nancy Schreiber (American Gun), Valentina Caniglia (The Woods Have Eyes), and Sandi Sissel (Salaam Bombay!).
Admission to all events is free and most are open to the public. For details and schedule, visit www.fusionfilmfestival.com.
