Rushdie and Manji Discuss Moral Courage
On Jan. 18, the celebrated novelist Salman Rushdie and Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service Visiting Scholar Irshad Manji, director of the school’s Moral Courage Project, launched Manji’s “Moral Courage Conversations” at the 92nd Street Y—just in time to mark the 20th anniversary of Iran’s fatwa against Rushdie. The conversation on moral courage in religion, politics, journalism, and beyond picked up again on Feb. 18, when Manji interviewed foreign correspondent Christiane Amanpour.
