Public Enemy Founder Chuck D Speaks at Skirball
Chuck D — founder of the legendary rap group Public Enemy — visited Skirball on Jan. 26 as part of the NYU Reynolds 2008-09 speaker series, “Social Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century,” which features individuals who have launched programs addressing the most pressing challenges of the 21st century. The musician and art activist’s lecture went beyond rap music to touch on a range of topics, including electoral politics, internet file-sharing, the representation of urban space and culture, and race in the media.
