NYU Faculty, GSAS Students Selected as Fulbright Fellows
Since it was launched in the late 1940s, the Fulbright Program has been
an integral part of U.S. foreign relations, encouraging dialogue
between U.S. citizens and institutions and their counterparts abroad. The Fulbright Program allows for the exchange of unique ideas and viewpoints, promotes more effective bi-national cooperation, and nurtures leaders, both in the U.S. and abroad, who can work together to address common concerns.
NYU’s 2008-09 faculty Fulbright Fellows are Ann Morning, an assistant professor of sociology, and Jacqueline Bishop, a master teacher in the Faculty of Arts and Science’s Liberal Studies Program.
Graduate School of Arts and Science students who received a Fulbright Student Award are Cathleen Chaffee, Department of Art History; Robert Chang, Department of Anthropology; Colin Marshall, Department of Philosophy; Paul Sager, Department of History and French Studies; and Max Ward, Department of History. Students who received a Fulbright-Hays are Vanessa Davidson, Department of Art History; Rania Jawad, Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies; Rachel Lears, Department of Anthropology; and Susynne McElrone, Department of History and Department of Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies.
