TSOA’s Sam Pollard Honored With Career Editing Award

The International Documentary Association will honor Sam Pollard, professor in the Kanbar Institute of Film and Television at the Tisch School of the Arts, with a career award at the Director’s Guild of America on Dec. 5 in Los Angeles. Pollard is the inaugural winner of the 2008 Avid Excellence in Editing Award.
    
Pollard, an accomplished feature film and television video editor, and documentary producer/director with numerous industry awards to his name, has had a career spanning nearly 30 years.  His professional credits are many and include a number of Spike Lee’s films: Mo’ Better Blues, Jungle Fever, Girl 6, Clockers, and  Bamboozled. Pollard and Lee co-produced documentary
productions for the small and big screen, including Spike Lee Presents Mike Tyson, Four Little Girls, and When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts.
