Tisch Undergrad Lands Role Opposite William H. Macy

Steven Kaplan, a second year student in the drama department at the Tisch School of the Arts, recently landed his first feature film role—starring opposite William H. Macy in Bart Got a Room.
Kaplan, who grew up in White Plains, N.Y., took off the fall semester to shoot the film, which had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 25. In the 48 hours before flying to Los Angeles for the audition that landed him the role of Danny Stein, Steven taught himself to play Benny Goodman’s Sing Sing Sing and Tommy Dorsey’s I’m Getting Sentimental Over You on the trumpet. The performance is featured in the film, which is expected to hit theaters soon.
