NYU Celebrates Earth Week with 11 Days of Events

NYU’s celebration of Earth Day extended far beyond the official date of April 22. Student organizations teamed with the Office of Community Service and the NYU Sustainability Task Force to bring 11 days of Earth Week programming to campus. Earth Week events ranged from a panel on biking in the city and alternative transportation, to film screenings of environmental movies such as The 11th Hour and Garbage, to hiking and boating trips.

A highlight of the week was NYU’s 20th annual VIP Day. Fifty volunteers from NYU and the Greenwich Village community came out to Washington Square Park on April 25th to plant flowers and give the fixtures a fresh paint job.
