Dorm Move Out Days Go Green at NYU

This May, NYU’s Green Apple Move Out collection project gave students at 10 residence halls the opportunity to find a second life for items that might otherwise have been discarded. Items ranging from linens to clothing to electronics were collected and donated to non-profit organizations, benefiting the local community and the environment.

The project collected at least 25,000 pounds of re-usable material and was funded by NYU’s Sustainability Fund and support from NYU Recycling, Aramark, and Gallatin alumnus Jordan Anger. It was organized by Jennie Tichenor, administrator in the Department of Anthropology. For more information please visit www.nyu.edu/sustainability.
