Slovenian Meeting Considers Muslim Citizenship in Europe
NYU’s Center for Dialogues: Islamic World-U.S.-The West was an organizer of a recent informal, high-level meeting to discuss guidelines for citizenship in Europe that would ensure that new minorities — particularly Muslims — can function as full citizens of the European Union and its member states. The late February meeting was held at Castle Jable in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Pictured are Mustapha Tlili, right, director of NYU’s Center for Dialogues, along with Dimitrij Rupel, left, minister of foreign affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, and Ursula Plassnik, federal minister of European and international affairs of the Republic of Austria.
