Internship to Honor Law’s Norman Dorsen
The Society of American Law Teachers (SALT) has established its first permanent internship, in honor of Norman Dorsen, Stokes Professor of Law and counselor to the president at NYU. SALT is the largest organization of law teachers in the U.S. with more than 900 members. It focuses on expanding access to the courts, defending academic freedom, opposing discrimination against vulnerable groups, and increasing diversity in the legal profession and law schools. Dorsen was the founding president of SALT in 1972.
Last year Dorsen was honored with the first triennial award of the Association of American Law Schools, whose members are law schools in the U.S. and Canada, for his “lifetime contributions to the law and to legal education.”
