Human Rights Watch Executive Director Delivers Lecture on Rights of the Accused
Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch, delivered the 2007 Albert Gallatin Lecture, “Defending Rights without Courts and Judges: War Stories from around the World and Our Backyard,” on Dec. 11 in NYU’s Kimmel Center for University Life.
Roth, who has been in his post since 1993, has conducted human rights investigations around the globe and has written more than 80 articles and chapters on a range of human rights topics. He has devoted special attention to issues of justice and accountability for gross abuses of human rights, standards governing military conduct in time of war, human rights policies of the United States and United Nations, and human rights responsibilities of multinational businesses.
