Aciman Discusses ‘Exile as Metaphor’ in Gallatin Lecture

Author Andre Aciman, whose first novel, Call Me by Your Name, has just been included in the New York Times Book Review’s list of “100 Notable Books of 2007,” delivered a lecture, “Exile as Metaphor,” sponsored by the Writing Program of the Gallatin School of Individualized Study in late November. Aciman, who is also a memoirist (Out of Egypt) and essayist (False Papers), is a Proust scholar, chair of the Comparative Literature Program at CUNY’s Graduate Center, and director of the Writer’s Institute at CUNY
