Nat Ward’s ‘Buy Me Something’ Photos On View at Tisch

“Buy Me Something,” an exhibition comprising 20 large-scale color photographs by Nat Ward, the recipient of the 2006 Constantiner Fellowship award in the Department of Photography and Imaging at the Tisch School of the Arts, is on view through Jan. 5.  The Constantiner Fellowship enables one graduating senior to pursue a project based in New York City.

Leon and Michaela Constantiner are photography collectors interested in supporting young artists. Their collection of Marilyn Monroe photographs was recently exhibited at The Brooklyn Museum.

The Constantiner Fellowship is awarded to one graduating senior from the Department of Photography and Imaging each year. With the support of this grant, photographer Nat Ward documented children’s commodity culture and its inherent potential to influence social learning, personal development, and material desire.

“Buy Me Something” is being exhibited in the Gulf+Western Gallery (front windows) and the 8th Floor Gallery, located at 721 Broadway (at Waverly Place).  Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
