Timeline

Phase 1

  • Evaluate Sakai 2.8 for the NYU community
  • Provide a fully-supported teaching and learning service for selected courses at Washington Square as well as our global sites and campuses
  • Investigate additional NYU Classes functionality
  • Conduct usability testing with faculty and students
  • Develop an effective content transition strategy for current NYU Blackboard users
  • Create a Faculty/User Advisory Group

Phase 2

  • Expand the NYU Classes community to 1000s of clients
  • Integrate functionality from other teaching/learning services (e.g., TurnItIn, NYU Stream)
  • Communicate full transition plan NYU community
  • Continue usability testing and focus groups with the NYU community
  • Implement full service support model including documentation and training

Phase 3

  • NYU Classes fully supported as the University's primary learning management system
  • Move selected NYU Blackboard content to NYU Classes
  • Course creation is within NYU Classes with full transition by Fall 2013
  • Develop transition plans for schools not using NYU Blackboard as their primary learning management system
  • Retire the NYU Blackboard service by August 15, 2013
