As of the beginning of the Spring 2013 Semester, NYU has transitioned the majority of its schools from Blackboard to NYU Classes as the University's primary learning management system. The project is now in its third and final phase. The Leonard N. Stern School of Business, the School of Law and the College of Dentistry will complete the transition to NYU Classes in summer 2013.
This site provides important information about the transition.
Phase 1 is now complete and included selected courses at Washington Square as well as our global sites and campuses. The planning process was overseen by the Teaching Technology Committee and included broad consultation with the University community.
Phase 2 The start of the fall semester brought change to 1000s of users as our project moved into Phase 2. Courses from NYU Abu Dhabi, courses from the College of Dentistry, the Liberal Studies Program, the Silver School of Social Work, NYU Sydney and NYU Washington, DC all now use NYU Classes. Over the summer, the project team moved content for these courses and trained faculty. Now they are actively providing support to ease the transition to the new service.
Phase 3 By the end of Phase 3, NYU Classes will become the University's primary learning management system. Faculty will have access to their Blackboard content to facilitate the creation of their Sakai course sites. As of August 15, 2013 the Blackboard service will be retired.
Blackboard Organizational Sites are now available to be transitioned to NYU Classes.
