The planning effort for NYU Plans 2031 is being led by the Campus Planning division of the Office of Strategic Assessment, Planning and Design working closely with the Office of Government and Community Affairs. The two NYU offices coordinate the planning process both internally and externally.
In May 2007, NYU selected SMWM in association with Grimshaw Architects, Toshiko Mori Architect, and the Olin Partnership as the consulting team to work with NYU to develop a long range strategic plan. The SMWM team was chosen from among 11 initial proposals and three finalists through an extensive interview process. The partnership will provide NYU with a multi-disciplinary approach to planning and design. Over the next year, the SMWM team will work with NYU on a plan that will allow the University to provide guidance in addressing its academic needs and physical development over the next 25 years.
The NYU team includes:

- Lori Mazor, Associate Vice President Planning and Design

- Andrew Repoli, Project Manager
