New York University's estate in Florence known as La Pietra is situated on a hillside just north of the city center. La Pietra is a 15th century villa surrounded by 57 acres of gardens, rolling hills, and olive groves. While in Florence, students can explore the illustrious legacy of this extraordinary villa bestowed on NYU by Sir Harold Acton. The course examines the delivery of health services as pertains to nurse's contribution using the social/cultural, historical, literary and scientific contexts.
