Welcome to the College of Nursing at New York University!

Dear Friends,

NYU College of Nursing is leading the way into a new era of nursing excellence.

We look forward to another year of extraordinary growth and progress at NYU College of Nursing, and this growth has been reflected in several recent rankings. The College now ranks 11th in research funding from the National Institute of Health. Our doctoral program, so essential to addressing the shortage of faculty in research-intensive universities, has been recognized by the National Research Council with a rank of 7th among the nursing programs evaluated. US News and World Report listed NYU College of Nursing as the #1 graduate Nurse Practitioner program in Geriatrics in the nation.

I was especially excited about this year's Commencement Exercises, held at Yankee Stadium on May 18, 2011. There, NYU President John Sexton presented a Doctor of Science degree, honoris causa, to College of Nursing alumna Claire Mintzer Fagin, PhD '64, RN, FAAN, the first nurse to be President of the University of Pennsylvania.

On the horizon is a fabulous new building for the College of Nursing, which will be located in the heart of NYU's health corridor on First Avenue. This will be the home of the College and provide a state of the art teaching-learning environment for our students, faculty, administrators and staff. To our alumni and friends, we welcome you, too, as partners in this extraordinary building journey. It seems only fitting that we keep our goals at the highest level, and to achieve this goal, we will need help from each and every one of you. Our building campaign is the most ambitious campaign our College has to date. We seek to raise $25 million to help construct our new home. When we break ground in the near future, we will keep you updated throughout the process...
