The New York University College of Nursing (NYUCN) announces the opening of clinical track faculty positions with a special emphasis on teaching and clinical scholarship related to the care of adults and older adults. Primary responsibilities include curriculum development and evaluation; leadership in teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels; overseeing on-campus (simulation) and off-campus clinical instruction; and a defined area of clinical scholarship.
As part of an ambitious strategic plan, the College has doubled its full-time faculty in the past four years and plans to build a new state-of-the-art nursing facility. Educational offerings at the College include Bachelor of Science degrees, Masters' degrees, Advanced Masters' certificate programs, the DNP and the PhD. The College boasts six endowed chairs, 12 Fellows in the American Academy of Nursing, and major centers that include the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, the Muriel and Virginia Pless Center for Nursing Research and the Center for Drug Use and HIV Research. In addition, the College has achieved designation as a World Health Organization Collaborating Center.
Qualifications for these positions include: Doctorate in nursing (preferred), minimum Master's degree in nursing (preferred in adult health/medical-surgical nursing although other specialty areas also considered); effectiveness in clinical and didactic teaching; record of clinical scholarship; and the ability to work in a collaborative team. Appointment and salary commensurate with experience.
