Susan Burger, PhD, RN, Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Burger received a PhD in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000. Her major concentration was in Health Promotion and Health Protection in the School of Nursing and her minor concentration was in Health Policy and Administration in the School of Public Health. She received her MSN in Nursing Education from Southern CT State University and her BSN from Duke University. Dr. Burger has held both clinical and teaching positions in community health nursing, maternal-child health, and medical-surgical nursing. In addition, she has many years experience teaching nursing research and evidence-based practice. Her research interest is in the impact of health policy on health organizations and public health outcomes. She has presented findings from her studies at regional and national nursing and public health conferences and she has published scholarly articles on the same topic.
Currently, she is conducting a study of the impact of telehealth use among chronically ill elders living independently in the community.
