Research Interests / Professional Overview:

Susan Lombardo is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in community health nursing with a clinical focus on home care and health promotion. She has taught at the Baccalaureate level for many years and has interests in community health, adult health (primary and secondary prevention), nursing process and nursing education. Susan continues her clinical practice through the Visiting Nurses Association of Western New York. She is a reviewer for Home Healthcare Nurse and a book reviewer for Activities, Adaptation and Aging.

Research interests include issues of race, class and gender as they intersect in schools and communities. Recent funded research includes examination of the quality of life of community dwelling post-menopausal women with urinary incontinence and how they narrate their experiences. Dr. Lombardo has presented this particular research internationally in Montreal, Canada, Vienna, Austria, and Dublin, Ireland as well as in several cities in the United States.
