Carolyn Auerhahn is the coordinator of the Geriatric and Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner Programs at New York University, College of Nursing. She also serves as the Director for Advanced Practice Initiatives at the Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing, New York University, College of Nursing . Dr. Auerhahn has been actively engaged in the teaching of nurse practitioner students for more than 20 years and, prior to joining the faculty at NYU, held academic positions at Yale University School of Nursing and Columbia University School of Nursing. She holds national certification as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Dr. Auerhahn is a member of many professional organizations and is a peer reviewer for several advanced practice journals. She has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and has presented papers at national, regional and local professional conferences. She has also made several appearances on network television and radio.
