Dr. Wendy C. Budin is Director of Nursing Research at NYU Medical Center . In this role she is engaged in many initiatives to develop, use, disseminate, and illustrate the use of evidence-based practice in delivery of quality nursing care. Dr. Budin holds a joint faculty appointment at NYU College of Nursing. Prior to this position, Dr. Budin was Associate Dean for Graduate Nursing Programs and Research and Director of the Doctoral Program at Seton Hall University. She is involved in an ongoing program of research dealing with breast cancer adjustment in women and their partners. She received the first NJ Visiting Research Scholar Fellowship from the NJ Commission on Cancer Research and an ANF Grant for this work. Dr. Budin was appointed to the NJ Commission on Cancer Research, Psychosocial Nursing Advisory Board and the Medical Advisory Council of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, North Jersey Affiliate. Other research interests include promoting and advocating for the health of women and childbearing families as well as bullying in the workforce. Dr. Budin holds leadership positions in numerous professional organizations, including Chair of the Certification Council of Lamaze International. Dr. Budin is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Perinatal Education. In addition to many articles, several book chapters, Dr. Budin is co-author of Notter's Essentials of Nursing Research and Breast Cancer: Journey to Recovery. Dr. Budin serves as manuscript reviewer for a variety of journals including, Journal of Nursing Administration (JONA); Journal of Nursing Scholarship; Journal of Obstetrical, Gynecological, and Neonatal Nursing (JOGNN); American Journal of Nursing (AJN); Journal of Psychooncology; and Nursing Standard, RCN Publishing Company, United Kingdom. She has received numerous awards for her achievements including the Distinguished Alumnae awards from NYU College of Nursing and Seton Hall University, the NJ Governor's Award for Nursing Research, the C.A.R.E. Award for Nursing Research from the New Jersey State Nursing Association, and the NJ Nurse of the Year, (AWHONN).
