President’s Welcome
On behalf of the Executive Board of the Upsilon Chapter and its membership, thank you for visiting our website. Our Chapter is one of the original chapter's of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), the Honor Society of Nursing. We are presently planning our chapter's 50th anniversary in 2011.
Our vision is to communicate and connect with our chapter members, serve as a peer-contributing resource for knowledge and scholarship, to provide leadership and development opportunities, mentorship and provide meaningful and purposeful involvement in service activities that are globally relevant is continued.
Our 2009-2010 Executive board consists of NYU alumni, faculty and community leaders. We have planned some very exciting programs and various service activities and invite our membership will join us. Last year, we partnered with NYU Medical Center and other STTI chapters to co-sponsor two programs "Genomes and Genetics in Nursing" and "Care of the Caregiver". We also participated in two service activities at a soup kitchen and with the organization "Baby Buggy".
Our 2009-2010 scheduled events and business meetings can be found on our website and Facebook page (NYU Upsilon). We do ask that our chapter members keep their contact information current on the STTI website so we can keep you informed of the chapter's events and activities.
We will be inducting new members in April 2010. We remain committed to annually awarding both scholarships and research awards. Please refer to the website and Facebook page for information regarding membership, our induction in April, and research award applications.
As we plan for our 2011 50th anniversary celebration, we ask all Upsilon members to share any of their professional accomplishments, Upsilon memories, or photos so we can recognize all of our member accomplishments.
I look forward to a very productive year for our chapter and hope to see our members throughout the year. Please feel free to contact us via our gmail account
