Students

The students in the NYU Master's Program in Global Public Health are a reflection of the many aims and ambitions of the program itself: they are a committed, focused, and accomplished group of scholars who come from a wealth of different backgrounds but share a common goal of promoting global public health through improved research, practice, and policy-making. Just as the program recognizes that no single disciplinary approach will be sufficient to respond to the world's increasingly complex global health problems, we seek to enroll students from across a broad spectrum of academic disciplines who can each bring their own unique skills and insight to bear on the experience.

Many of our students continue to serve as important figures in their respective fields and communities, either actively practicing in the health professions or maintaining current positions within the various organizations from which they come to us. This wealth of ongoing experience and involvement with the health community on the part of our students ensures that the Global MPH is not simply an insular academic experience, confined to a classroom or restrained by a static curriculum. Rather, the program is an active and constantly evolving academic entity, dependant on both the richly diverse backgrounds and experiences of the students and the considerable expertise of the faculty drawn from 5 of NYU's world renowned graduate and professional schools.
