Resources for NYU-Poly Students

At this time, a limited number of offerings and services are available to NYU Poly students. To gain admission for these events and services, you must show a valid Polytechnic ID. If you have questions about whether a facility is available for use, or a service is open to NYU Poly students, please call the appropriate number listed below.

Student Health Center

Effective Oct 1, 2010 NYU Poly students will have access to the NYU Student Health Center’s (SHC) comprehensive services, including the following.  Most services will be on a fee-for-service basis (billed to insurance or student).*  SHC providers will be in-network for NYU Poly students who have purchased the NYU Poly sponsored student health insurance plan, resulting in lower out-of-pocket costs.

  • Primary Care
  • Women's Health services
  • Allergy and Immunology (including vaccinations required to meet State and School requirements)
  • Specialty services including dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, nutrition, orthopedics, psychiatry, and travel medicine
  • Physical Therapy
  • Radiology
  • Vision care

In addition the following services will be available at no cost to the student:

  • Health Promotion programs and services
  • Counseling and Wellness Services workshops/toolkits and stress clinic
  • 24/7 emergency response hotline
  • HIV blood test and counseling

*For NYU Poly students taking an NYU class some fees in Primary Care may be waived.

Moses Center for Students with Disabilities

The Moses Center for Students with Disabilities will provide accommodated exams for NYU courses for Poly students who have registered their disability with the Poly Office of Student Development. CSD requires that students submit a completed Test Request form five days prior to the date of each exam. This notice is necessary to make testing arrangements as well as confirm the student’s registration with Poly.

Our Test Request form can be found on our website. Please note the Alternative Exam Time form to be used when there is a time conflict. No exam dates or times will be changed without consent from the professor.

Athletics, Intramurals and Recreation

Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2011 NYU Poly students who are matriculated and enrolled in a degree granting program from NYU Poly will have access to Coles and Palladium. Access will be granted by presenting your NYU Poly student ID.

NYU Poly students may:

- Sign in up to 2 guests per visit at $10 per guest (must have correct fee)
- Enroll in recreation classes (fees vary)
- Rent a locker (fees and availability vary)
- Subscribe for towel service ($25 per semester)

NYU Poly students may not participate in NYU Washington Square:

- Intercollegiate Sports
- Club Sports
- Intramural program
 
NYU Poly faculty and staff continue to have free admission to all NYU Washington Square varsity athletic contests, special events and to all “Tear It Up!” events.

Fall access begins 10/3/2011 and will end on 1/18/2012 unless enrolled for spring 2012. New spring 2012 Poly students will have access beginning 1/19/2012. All spring 2012 access will end on May 15, 2012.

The Center for Student Activities, Leadership and Service offers NYU Poly students the opportunity to attend meetings and programs hosted by over 250 All-Square student clubs, the Program Board and the University Committee on Student Life including the Mystery Concert, Cultural Celebration Months, Violet Ball and the All-U Games.
