The OISS aims to promote intercultural understanding and student well being by providing programming - including services, opportunities and projects - that supports, enhances, educates and integrates foreign students and the NYU community.

International Student Orientation

As part of NYU Welcome Week, the OISS offers international student orientation sessions on practical, academic, cultural, and social activities to help students settle in to life at NYU.



International Education Week

International Education Week (IEW) is an annual joint initiative of the U.S. Departments of State and Education. This national week-long program promotes international exchange and fosters greater global awareness.


Commencement Breakfast

Every spring the OISS sponsors a commencement breakfast for graduating NYU international students, their families and friends.


Graduate and Professional Skills Series

The OISS, in collaboration with the Wasserman Center for Career Development, provides workshops that give students the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to be effective and professional graduate students.
