Introduce Yourself

Here is your chance to make a first impression!

WHAT IS OWOW?

One Word. One World. is an annual contest for new students to introduce themselves online — whether entering NYU in New York, Abu Dhabi, Paris, London, Shanghai, or Florence.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE?

Choose one word that describes you, then take a photo or make a short video that tells the world who you are. In your entry, include your name, where you’re from, and your one word. Entries are submitted on HashtagNYU’s Facebook before school starts each year. Need some inspiration? Check out last year's finalists.

IS THERE A PRIZE?

Finalists will be chosen based on creativity, number of likes, and general coolness by a panel of judges. Selected entries will be featured at the Presidential Welcome, where everyone will see how talented you are, and you'll become something of a minor celebrity. Fame and fortune can be yours! OK... Maybe just fame — but that's still pretty cool!

SO, WHAT'S THE STATUS?

We've chosen the finalists for 2013, but One Word. One World. will happen again next summer for new incoming students. Keep an eye on HashtagNYU for updates!

DON'T USE FACEBOOK? No problem! We make it easy for everyone to participate. Please send your entry via email as an attachment to hashtagnyu@nyu.edu or using a free web service such as WeTransfer or Dropbox.
