Student Media

New York City is a global center for media, journalism and communications.  Students at NYU have the opportunity to immerse themselves into the exciting city media life by joining or contributing to one of the University's student-run media outlets.  Just as New York City is resplendent with news and exciting events, NYU is a hotbed for news stories: teeming with diverse, intelligent people and organizations which make connections with each other every day that can turn into news.  Be at the pulse of that by getting involved with one of NYU's student media outlets.

Washington Square News

Washington Square News is the free, award-winning student newspaper of New York University.  It is distributed Monday-Thursday throughout the academic year at over 100 locations in Manhattan, reaching over 60,000 students, faculty, staff and community members.  Whether you like to write, design for print, design for the web, copy edit or take photos, WSN has a department that could use your help.  The paper hires people of all experience levels — from students with years of experience to those just starting out. It is teaching newspaper, dedicated to the idea that skilled students working together can do great things.

WNYU Radio

WNYU is New York University ‘s radio station and is completely operated by NYU students. WNYU’s studios are located in the basement of 5-11 University Pl. in Greenwich Village. WNYU’s transmitter is located at University Heights in the Bronx, the former location of NYU. WNYU broadcasts on 89.1 FM with an effective radiated power of 8,300 watts weekdays from 4:00PM to 1:00AM, and on the Internet 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
