Diversity Internship and Career Preparation Program

This comprehensive, undergraduate career development program is designed to prepare and promote NYU’s historically underrepresented sophomores and juniors. The D.I.C.P. Program aims to assist in developing job searching and networking skills; improving resume and cover letter writing skills; promotes diversity within the workplace; and strives to empower students to find their dream internships.  Applications are available each Fall for this program.

FOCUS Mentorship Program

Interested in learning more or about NYU and all the various opportunities that are available?  Or are you looking for ways to support students in their transition to NYU? Apply to be part of the  FOCUS Mentorship Program which pairs first and second year undergraduate students with a mentor that is an NYU Graduate Student, Alumni, Faculty, Administrator or Staff member. The program connects the pairs and offers guidance and support throughout the academic year.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Chapter @ NYU

HSF @ NYU is dedicated to increase the number of high school students attending college by creating programs designed to expose local youth to NYU and the undergraduate experience.  These programs are meant to encourage youth to have conversations early in their educational career about college and available possibilities. HSF @ NYU also conducts workshops for NYU students around career and graduate school development. Find out how you can get involved!

Making it in Media

Making it in Media, a longstanding partnership with The Washington Square News, is a networking Q & A series that provides an opportunity for those interested in a career in media to connect with media professionals of diverse backgrounds. The panelists share how social identities and diversity have impacted their careers. MIIM is informative and open to all, offering job/internship suggestions, career advice, and general media analysis from industry veterans.

Nia Awards

The Nia (a Swahili word meaning “purpose”) Awards Ceremony honors the achievements of undergraduate and graduate students committed to promoting diversity and social justice from across the University each spring. In addition to student awards, Nia also celebrates an NYU alumni, faculty and administrator that demonstrates outstanding commitment to student development and service. We also honor the various groups and leaders within the Center for Multicultural Education and Programs. All NYU students, faculty, staff, and administrators are encouraged to nominate their peers and colleagues!
