The very nature of an emergency is its ability to suddenly pose disruption. While we cannot control when and where emergencies will occur, we can manage our ability to continue or quickly restore operations. Having a continuity plan helps minimize the impact of an emergency on a department and on the university as a whole.
In an emergency, NYU students, faculty and staff should follow the instructions of first responders and campus authorities. Once in a safe and secure location, departments should activate their continuity plans.
