Statuses

NYU New York:
Remote Learning

NYU’s classes will be conducted remotely in New York and Brooklyn for the remainder of the spring semester.

Beginning Thursday, March 12, NYU athletic facilities are closed until further notice.

Beginning Friday, March 13, all administrators and staff deemed to be non-essential are strongly encouraged to telework until further notice.

All residence halls will be closed by no later than March 22. Virtually all dining facilities will also be closed.

Confirmed Presence of COVID-19 in the NYU Community

As of March 20, 2020, the University is aware of approximately a dozen confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the NYU community; the number includes students, faculty, and administrators, all of whom are at home, and some of whom are not in the US. In all instances, the proper public health protocols are being followed to reduce contagion in the community.

Washington D.C. and Los Angeles:
Remote Learning

Los Angeles and Washington, DC are conducting classes remotely from March 11 until the end of the semester.  

NYU Abu Dhabi:
Remote Learning

In response to a recent directive from the UAE Ministry of Education mandating that all schools close for a four week period starting March 8, NYU Abu Dhabi will move courses, advising, and assessment online during this period. Students have the option to relocate, but in-person classes and other campus-based, congregate activities will not be held during this time.

NYU Shanghai:

The University delayed the start of the spring semester at NYU Shanghai and launched remote classes on February 17. The community will continue to use technology-assisted distance learning until facilities are able to reopen.

As of March 18, 2020, there has been one confirmed case of coronavirus in the NYU Shanghai community:

  • A student who was studying abroad this semester; resting comfortably at home

NYU in Berlin, Florence, Madrid, Paris, and Prague:
Classes Canceled March 12 and 13

European sites' courses are canceled March 12 and 13. Students are strongly encouraged to return home. Please see the latest University guidance for more information.

NYU in London:
Remote Learning

NYU in Tel Aviv:

As of Friday, March 13, we are asking students to depart for home, where they will be able to complete their semester’s work remotely. Please see the latest University guidance for further details.

NYU in Accra
Remote Learning

NYU Accra is on Spring Break and will resume courses remotely on Monday, March 23. Students currently in Accra are urged to leave as soon as possible, no later than Wednesday, March 18. If you are currently traveling in the country, or region, we strongly encourage you to return back to Accra as soon as possible to collect your belongings and then return home.

NYU in Buenos Aires:
