The NYU Public Safety Command Center and the NYU ID Card Center are moving to a new location at 7 Washington Place this weekend. The Command Center is moving from its current home on the ground floor of 14 Washington Place. The ID Card Center is moving from 383 Lafayette Street.
The Command Center is open 24/7 and its first day of operation at 7 Washington Place will be this Saturday, March 1st. The ID Card Center will be open in its new location as of Tuesday, March 4th.
The emergency telephone number for the NYU Public Safety Command Center remains the same: 212-998-2222. For information regarding the NYU ID Card, please call 212-443-CARD (2273).
To protect its community, New York University has uniformed security officers who are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year; an emergency number (212) 998-2222; emergency call boxes located throughout the main campus, green light buildings staffed 24 hours a day by Public Safety Officers, Safe Havens, transportation services, including Safe Ride Program from 12 midnight to 7:00am.
OPERATION ID - A joint program with the NYPD to register smart phones, tablets, laptops and other small electronic devices. If the device is lost or stolen, and turned into the NYPD, the owner can be contacted to reclaim their property. No cost to register your devices!
