Waste Pick-up Schedules

The following is the schedule of hazardous chemical waste pick-ups for the Washington Square campus for the academic year 2008-2009. NYU's hazardous waste contractor will be on campus the last Wednesday of every month to package and remove hazardous chemical waste. The Waste Room will continue to be open on Wednesdays and Fridays between 2:15 and 3:15 PM to receive waste from the Silver Center laboratories. If any laboratories or facilities in other buildings at the Washington Square campus require hazardous chemical waste removal on any of these dates, please contact Environmental Health and Safety at ext. 81450 to make necessary arrangements.

Note: Certain materials, such as cyanides, organic peroxides, lead, PCBs, materials requiring refrigeration and compressed gas cylinders, may require special removals and will be scheduled on an "as needed" basis. Clean-outs of entire labs will also be scheduled on an "as needed" basis. Please contact Environmental Health and Safety several weeks in advance of lab clean-outs to arrange for qualified personnel to perform the work.

Washington Square Universal Waste

The following is the schedule of universal waste pick-ups for the Washington Square campus for the academic year 2008-2009. NYU's new Universal Waste contractor will be on campus to pick-up fluorescent bulbs, batteries and CRTs from academic and housing facilities on the first Tuesday and Wednesday or Wednesday and Thursday of every month with the exception of September. If you need bulbs, batteries or CRTs removed on any of these dates, please contact Environmental Health and Safety at ext. 81450 a few days before the scheduled date, to make necessary arrangements.

December 2 and 3, 2008

Dental Center Hazardous and Universal Waste

The following is the schedule of hazardous chemical and universal waste pick-ups for the NYU College of Dentistry (Dental Center) for the academic year 2008-2009. NYU's hazardous waste contractor will be on-site on the third Thursday of every other month to package and remove hazardous chemical waste.

Institute of Fine Arts Hazardous and Universal Waste

The following is the schedule of hazardous chemical and universal waste pick-ups for the Institute of Fine Arts for the academic year 2008-2009. In general, NYU's hazardous waste contractor will be at IFA on the third Friday of every other month to package and remove hazardous chemical waste and remove hazardous chemical waste.
