Rates & Payments

Making Payments

Housing and dining payments and reservation fees are made directly to the Bursar. Payments may be made by:

  • Personal check or money order
  • Electronic Check

Academic Year Payments

Students may have to submit a $1000 non-refundable/non-transferable housing reservation fee payment to secure housing.  Click here for the reservation fee payment coupon and instructions.  All reservation fee payment methods for the academic year require submission of the payment coupon.  Students will not receive a bill for the housing reservation fee.

Students will receive a bill from the Bursar's Office for tuition and housing charges that have been posted to their student account.  Students who have not yet been assigned at the time of billing are sent an estimated housing charge. The actual housing and dining charges will be reflected on the student's offical housing assignment notice. Charges may be higher or lower depending on the assignment made.

Fall 2013

  • Undergraduate students renewing their housing for the upcoming academic year will have to pay a $1000 housing reservation fee during the 2013-2014 Undergraduate Reapplication process. The fee will be due in late February or early March.
  • Freshmen students must pay a $1000 reservation payment by the beginning of May to secure academic year housing.
  • Undergraduate transfer students must pay a $1000 reservation payment by late-May to secure academic year housing.
  • New Graduate students must submit a $1000 reservation fee with the housing application in late-May.

Charge Adjustments

Any meal plan or assignment change that occurs during the academic or summer terms is prorated on a weekly basis. If a change in your meal plan or assignment generates a credit or debit, that change will be reflected on your Bursar account For payment and/or refund procedures, refer to the Bursar website: www.nyu.edu/bursar.

Students who request room/building changes should be aware of rate differences and meal plan requirements when making requests to avoid unexpected charges.
