Application Process

Thank you for your interest in living on-campus!   Living in NYU Housing is the best way to meet new friends and get involved in university life.

Please follow the instructions below based on your classification:

Applying for the Academic Year

New Undergraduate Students

Once a new undergraduate student has accepted admission to the University, they will receive application instructions from this office and will be able to access the housing application on the NYUHome Housing Forms channel.

• Spring 2013: The Spring 2013 new student housing application process has closed.
• Fall 2013: Newly admitted students will be able to access the housing application upon admission.  They will also be sent, via email, general information regarding the application process. This information is distributed on a rolling basis as students are admitted.  If you have been accepted and have paid your admissions deposit, please click here to apply for housing now.

Current Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students admitted through NYU's Undergraduate Admissions Office are guaranteed housing for their entire education at NYU, provided they accept housing upon admission, maintain matriculation, meet all housing application and payment deadlines, and do not cancel their NYU-NY housing for reasons other than a school-approved medical leave or study away program. By meeting these criteria, students maintain their housing guarantee and are considered to have a “renewable housing status”. Thus named since these students are able to renew their housing contract each year.  Undergraduate students that have not met the criteria above have a “non-renewable housing status” and are not guaranteed housing.

• Spring 2013: The Spring 2013 housing application process has closed. Please contact our office directly if you are in need of Spring 2013 housing.
  
• Fall 2013:
  • Renewable students: The academic year 2013-2014 Undergraduate Housing Reapplication and Room Selection process has concluded.  If you did not apply via this process, you can apply as a non-renewable student.
    
  • Non-renewable students: The academic year 2013-2014 application process is now open. The priority deadline to submit an application and May 1, 2013.  Click here to apply now.
    

New and Current Graduate Students

Graduate students are not guaranteed housing but are able apply via the non-renewable, non-guaranteed housing application process.

• Spring 2013: The Spring 2013 housing application process has closed. Please contact our office directly if you are in need of Spring 2013 housing.
  
• Fall 2013: The academic year 2013-2014 application process is now open. The priority deadline to submit an application and a $1000 housing reservation payment is May 31, 2013.  For information about graduate housing and the application process, please click here.  Click here to apply now.
  

Visiting Students

Visiting students (students not matriculating from NYU) are not guaranteed housing but are eligible to apply for housing via the non-renewable, non-guaranteed application process.

• Fall 2013: The academic year 2013-2014 application process is now open. The priority deadline to submit an application is May 1, 2013.  Click here to apply now.
