Internet & Cable

Undergraduate residence halls in Manhattan:

NYU Cable TV, NYU Telephone, and Internet services are all provided by the university at no additional charge.

Internet. Wireless internet is available in all of our residence halls. Each room is also equipped with wired internet access.

For instructions on how to register a game console and/or digital media device (such as Apple TV, Google TV, or Roku) for use on the wired residence hall network, please click here.

NYU Cable. There is one cable connection per bedroom. NYU Cable provides access to approximately 75 channels, including HBO, ESPN, & community programming.

NYU Telephone. Service includes:

  • Free unlimited local calling (718, 212, 646, 347, & 917) and toll free service
  • Free unlimited domestic long distance calling
  • Free incoming calls
  • Free call waiting and caller-id.
  • Free voice mail (provided upon request)

If there is a need to make an international call, students living in residence halls will need to purchase an international calling card.

Your telephone number is included with your room assignment, and the telephone service is available when you check in. There is one telephone jack per person sharing one telephone line in each bedroom.

Residents provide their own telephones, TVs, and connecting cables. More information is available at check-in or by contacting the hall's Resource Center.

Graduate student residence halls in Manhattan:

Telephone, Internet, and Cable TV services are not provided by the university. Students must contract independently with local service providers. Residents provide their own telephones, TVs, routers, and connecting cables. More information is available at check-in or by contacting their hall's Resource Center.

Residence halls in Brooklyn:

Othmer

Internet. Wireless internet is available. Each room is also equipped with high-speed Ethernet access.

DirectTV. Residents of Othmer have access to DirectTV in every room (approximately 70 channels). For more information, please ask at the front desk.

Clark

Internet. Wireless internet is available. Each room is also equipped with high-speed Ethernet access.

Cable. There is one cable connection per bedroom, providing approximately 150 channels, including HBO.
