Welcome to Weinstein Hall! Weinstein is part of the First Year Residential Experience (FYRE) and is conveniently located as close to "main campus" and Washington Square Park as you can get, so our location can't be beat. Weinstein is a dynamic and diverse community consisting of almost 600 first year residents and a wonderful staff of two full-time live-in professional staff members (Residence Hall Director and Residence Hall Assistant Director), a full-time Residence Hall Resource Manager, and 15 Resident Assistants (RAs). We are all here to serve you.

We have a wide range of facilities here in Weinstein. Our 2East Lounge (located on the second floor on the East Tower) has a big screen TV, foosball, ping pong and pool tables and is our main space for the RAs to hold events and activities. It is also often used as a study lounge. In the sub-cellar there are music practice rooms with pianos, a laundry room, and three classrooms, the largest of which is used as a study lounge when class is not going on. We have many dining options: Passport Dining @ Weinstein Dining Hall (aka "Downstein"), the Food Court (aka "Upstein"), the Kosher cafeteria, and Peet's Coffee shop. Our hall also features a very active hall government called the Weinstein Hall Advisory Team, or better known as W.H.A.T., who advocates for fellow residents and also plans great events throughout the year.

What better place to be than Weinstein?! The year will provide a host of programs and events planned by student staff members as well as fellow residents through Hall Council. You will have so many opportunities to get to know one another and explore NYU, New York City, and the surrounding areas. Weinstein's amazing location puts you right in the heart of NYU and NYC, making sure your first year experience as a great one! We look forward to welcoming you to our community so you can see for yourself why so many students love Weinstein!

Each residence hall at NYU has a dedicated team of professional and student staff to ensure students' safety, strong sense of community and a smooth, efficient administrative operations. The professional staff is made up of a Residence Hall Director, Residence Hall Resource Manager and a Residence Hall Assistant Director. In collaboration with the Department of Public Safety and the Office of Facilities and Construction Management, this team will help shape your residential experience at NYU.

Hello wonderful first year students!  My name is Briana (Bry-na) Mathew, you can call me Bri, and I am excited to serve as your Residence Hall Assistant Director (RHAD) at Weinstein Hall.  I am originally from and grew up in Chicago, Illinois and a die-hard Chicago Bulls, Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks fan.  I earned my undergraduate degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and my Masters in Higher Education Administration with a Student Affairs focus from Loyola University Chicago.  Coming from Chicago, I fell in love with all that a big city can provide for a person’s personal and professional growth.  That is what brought me to NYU.  I am thrilled to work at Weinstein and help provide an amazing college experience for you through what NYU and NYC has to offer!  I am looking forward to getting to know you and seeing you get involved in various activities on campus – especially the Weinstein Hall Advisory Team (W.H.A.T.).  Please stop by my office on the 2nd floor of Weinstein off the 2B Lounge and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.  Have a fabulous year!
